Yachad, the Jewish Housing and Community Development Corporation of Greater Washington, is a non-profit organization that mobilizes the resources of the Washington metropolitan Jewish community to support the restoration of urban neighborhoods. Yachad works in partnership with minority churches to build and renovate affordable housing and to revitalize commercial developments in the Washington area's poorest neighborhoods. We also provide educational and community service opportunities for Jewish adults and teens to learn about preventing homelessness while putting into practice the values underlying the Jewish community's commitment to repairing the world. A principal goal of all our programs is to build strong relationships between the Jewish community and the residents of the diverse communities in which Yachad works.
