The AVI CHAI Fellowship

The AVI CHAI Fellowship is an intensive yearlong program of personal development and Jewish exploration that focuses on Jewish literacy and commitment to K'lal Yisroel, the Jewish people. The program includes peer learning, experiential and team-building activities, and an Israel Mission.

Since 1986, Discovery has provided people with the opportunity to explore the beauty, wisdom and significance of their Jewish heritage. So far, we have reached over 150,000 Jewish nationwide. We hold various programs in the DC area. Information is available on our website.

The Jewish Clipart Database

This database is a collection of Jewish Clipart for non-commercial, non-Internet use by the community. The artwork is donated by graphic artists and illustrators from all over the world. Clipart topics include: Mazel Tov, Chanukah, Israel, Jerusalem, Shabbat, Bar/Bat Mitzvah and others. Additional clipart and topics will be added on an ongoing basis. Graphic artists and illustrators are invited to participate in this global project.

Kesher is the campus-based program of the Union of American Hebrew Congregations' College Education Department. Working in partnership with Hillel and other campus organizations, KESHER serves Reform Jewish students through local Reform chavurot on campus and national leadership events. KESHER offers annual conventions, trips to Israel (through birthright israel) and Argentina, alternative spring breaks, and leadership training events.
My Hebrew Dictionary

My Hebrew Dictionary is an on-line resource containing groups of English words translated into Hebrew. The groups of words range from fruit and vegetables to basketball. The dictionary is unique because you do not need Hebrew fonts to display the Hebrew words. All words are displayed using graphics. The site loads quickly and the interface is simple. Anyone interested in learning new words of this ancient / modern language is invited to visit.

Yachad, the Jewish Housing and Community Development Corporation of Greater Washington

Yachad, the Jewish Housing and Community Development Corporation of Greater Washington, is a non-profit organization that mobilizes the resources of the Washington metropolitan Jewish community to support the restoration of urban neighborhoods. Yachad works in partnership with minority churches to build and renovate affordable housing and to revitalize commercial developments in the Washington area's poorest neighborhoods. We also provide educational and community service opportunities for Jewish adults and teens to learn about preventing homelessness while putting into practice the values underlying the Jewish community's commitment to repairing the world. A principal goal of all our programs is to build strong relationships between the Jewish community and the residents of the diverse communities in which Yachad works.
